Tourist information - Forli Forli a city in northern Italy, capital of Forli Province, in the Emilia-Romagna Region, on the Montone River. Forli is an agricultural and industrial center; manufacturing interests include industrial machinery, furniture, textiles, and food products. Important buildings in the city are the 12th-century Church of San Mercuriale and a 14th-century citadel. Known as Forum Livii, Forli was an ancient Roman trade center. An independent city from the 11th century until 1504 when it was made part of the Papal States.
